This year's Brighton Festival
has a 60-minute opera which may be of interest. It tells the story of
Mrs Green, whose supernatural encounter after murdering her children
heralds a lifetime of sorrow, repentance and dread and is based, of course, on
the macabre 17th-century ballad The Cruel Mother.
It's being staged at the disused Harvey's depot in Lewes on Friday - Sunday, 9-11 May.
