Wikipedia and pictures

There is a Wikipedia page on the Music of Sussex.  Within it are references to the South Downs Songs project and, as from just now, the SDFS.  Check it out here.

Whilst I have yet to post all the photos we have taken over the months on the 'Photos' page, a sneaky look at most of the ones that are up there can be found by searching 'South Downs Folk Singers' on Google images!

  1. These photos on Google Images are a bit 'random' aren't they? For example ( and there are many ) what has the Presbyterian Church of Australia to do with South Downs Folk Singers?? Just asking - I'm sure someone will tell me........

  2. Talk to Google! I think it's just that there are links to links to links etc .... For example, the picture of the 700 at Worthing might be simply because it relates to a Wikipedia page about Worthing and that page is linked from the SDFS detail on the Wikipedia Music of Sussex page. I think they're just trying to help!

    1. That's jolly kind of them - I remain mystified of the South East. How do you talk to Google?? It's a search engine. However, I won't take up more time, will explore........

  3. You need to search in Google images for "South Downs Folk Singers" making sure you include the double quotes. Otherwise you'll get pages with any of those individual words.

    2. Google will find all the images on pages containing the text "South Downs Folk Singers" and as you quite rightly say, this is a pretty random selection of images. The image for Lewes FC was found by Google on a 'what's on' page on the http://www.lewesbonfire.co.uk website. Remember you're seeing the results that Google found some time ago, it's not right up to date. We've sung at events in Lewes recently and I expect the Lewes FC image was found on this page at a time when we were also listed on there.
