SUSSEX DAY AND THE LAUNCH OF THE CD
Our final workshops, at Worthing and Billingshurst, will soon be coming to a close
and with them the South Downs Songs Project reaches its conclusion. It has been
a great project from every possible perspective and we have been really
overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and commitment of all of you who have taken part
and made the workshops such a delight for us to
teach!
To mark the end of the project and the release of the
final CD - which will include all the best tracks from the six workshop groups -
we will be a having a celebration day on Sunday June 16th - which happens also
to be Sussex Day. YOU ARE ALL INVITED and I am writing to you now so that you
can put the date in your dairies.
We will be meeting to sing and to celebrate at the Weald
and Downland
Museum at Singleton at 7pm
on June 16th. The museum have said that we can use the gridshell, which, if you
don't know it, is a marvelous modern and yet appropriate structure, just right
for our songs. The museum will be holding Sussex DAy events throughout the day
and we hope to have groups singing at various
times.
I will send out more information and more details of
timings and of events earlier in the day over the next few weeks, but the
important thing is that you all have that date - Sunday 16th June. Could I also
ask that, if you see other members of your workshop groups, that you mention
this celebration day to them, as I am aware that many people still do not
receive these mailings.
Thank you.
Chris
